I loved How I Used To Be. I have a lot of respect for the author and understand why she wrote the sequels the way she did, but I hated them. The first book was so real and raw and the rest were just having fun with romance. I get the purpose, but I will never love those books like the first one

there's something comforting about reading a story that feels like it understands you. When you find a character whose thoughts, struggles, or emotions mirror your own, it can feel as though someone has finally put your feelings into words. it reminds u that u r not the only one experiencing those emotions. That sense of being seen and understood is one of the reasons people are drawn to books with relatable characters. they offer reassurance that someone, somewhere, has felt the same way, even if it's through fiction
