University of Bonn is definitely a “target university” in Germany for Economics.

From a German perspective: 2 for finance, 3 for consulting. Big Four firms are less reputable in Germany than in the UK, and audit internships in particular are comparatively easy to obtain. Working student positions are a small plus, but due to the limited working capacity, you are typically not staffed on urgent tasks. This is less relevant for DACH Big Four firms, as interns usually work only 40 hours a week as well, but it has a higher impact when comparing a working student position at BCG with an internship.
Academically, the profile is strong, but the university is a non-target, making it nearly impossible to break into banking without a prestigious master’s program. This aspect is less relevant for MBB DACH, as they most likely prefer master’s students anyway, with the exception of excellent grades at a target school maybe.

Nope, he would score 5/5 in academics because there are no real target unis in Germany. For consulting the edge is small, for banking there is some but even in that domain, Germany hires based on grades and you just have to go to a PhD awarding uni. Some are more famous (like Bonn), some are just less famous (like Viadrina of Frankfurt/Oder).
