Born again is larping cinematography like lighting the screen blue whenever bullseye appears with no logically explained light source and their coloring is some stock apple TV stuff, its impressive how they managed to recreate the original show for the flashbacks, if they can actually do that why didn't they stick with it in the first place

can we stop overhating born again for no reason? there is no reason to compare them, I often find myself referring to BA seasons 1 and 2 as DD seasons 4 and 5 anyway

Season 1’s color grading was amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more visually expressive marvel show/movie.

i like to think of it as a new artist has started working with the writer on the comic and he has his own unique flair to him that isnt like the previous one, so we can appreciate both because they both are doing and accomplishing different artistic styles

born again's lighting (mostly in season 2) is really cool but God i wish it didnt have the weird sterile feeling that 99% of shows have nowadays. I dont know if its because theyre using only digital cameras or its just because its mostly sound stages but this feeling is almost totally lost

the change in colour grading and overall directing style was really a turn off for me. they took away the visual wight that the early seasons had and what made them really great.
