@katiekoroleva.art: I recently sold this painting through an online gallery, so I thought it would be interesting to share what the numbers actually looked like behind the scenes. The collector paid $700 (€608) including shipping. After shipping costs, gallery commission, taxes, and fees, the final payout was €166 ($190) and then local income taxes still come after that. This isn’t a complaint, just a reminder that the price a collector pays and what an artist ultimately receives can be very different things.
