⛰️ Atwea Mountain in the Ashanti Region of Ghana is one of the most famous prayer mountains in Africa. Every year, thousands of people climb up here to pray, fast and reflect 🇬🇭 The tradition is said to go back to a Methodist pastor named Abraham Osei-Asibey, who once climbed the mountain to pray. What started as a personal place of prayer slowly turned into a destination for people from all over the country and beyond. Today the summit is filled with prayer camps, small shelters, and places where people stay for spiritual retreats. Standing up there and looking across the surrounding mountains, it was easy for me to understand why this place became so special to so many people. While researching the mountain, I also noticed something interesting: “Atwea Mountain” seems to be the most widely used name today and is also mentioned by descendants of the founder. But I also came across other names like Abesua Mountain, Krobo Hill, and Krↄbo boↄ. So now I am curious 👀 What is the correct name of this mountain?
