I’m really big on investing but everything shouldn’t be boiled down to the time value of money. Your wedding day is likely the only day you’ll ever get all your friends and family in one room in your entire life. And yes, the wedding market is out of hand but it’ll also be the best day of your life. And gifts will help offset the costs too.

33k aftet 45 years at 7% growth is a hair under 700k. Once you consider inflation, it's really like having 180k in todays dollars. so... yeah, if the big wedding is what you want, just do it.

I get it, but also not everyone lives forever... as I get older the more I understand why some people just do some things... memories of people are more valuable then $$$. do you work every hour of your life because $$$. life is about balance each subject to there own ways.

if only would it be 33K 😀 decent wedding 50k and if you want a nicer. one 70-80k… and people that don’t even have money still keep doing it and they paying it off for next four years or so it is wild. for 6 hours of fun. 😀

Statistically, the less you spend on the wedding the less the risk of divorce. Me and the wife simply went to the courthouse in her home country (China), paid the equivalent of $16 and then later had some professional wedding photos made. That was 14 years ago. We both had no interest in a huge wedding party.
