As a gate agent, please take pictures of what is inside your luggages, inside your carry-ons if ever you check them in too. Take pics of your luggage and tags before sending them off. Just take all the pictures you need until you arrive at your destination and back😭

I think a better solution would be replacing paper baggage tags with tamper-evident plastic tags that lock permanently and can only be removed by cutting. Once cut, the tag becomes unusable, making it much harder for criminals to remove a legitimate tag from one bag and attach it to another bag containing contraband.

Theft go so bad at the Miami airport decades ago that you had to show your claim ticket matched your luggage before you could leave the baggage area. They need to restart that program.

My gran taught me to get a bright coloured suitcase but also use gift ribbon in various colours and tie around the handle to make it easily identifiable and then take a photograph of your luggage before you go.

The airline records the weight of your checked in bag… the drug bag will never be the exact same weight as your bag. Problem solved.
