@melissassweettooth: I’ve being getting a lot of cookie cake questions so I thought I would answer the top ones here! 🍪I use my American buttercream recipe for the frosting with piping tip 4B: Add 4 sticks of softened butter to a stand mixer and mix on high till fluffy and light in color- about 10-15 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and a big pinch of salt and mix until combined. Slowly add 2 pounds of powdered sugar, mixing in between additions and alternating heavy cream till you have added all of the powdered sugar and about 1-2 tablespoons total of heavy cream- if your frosting is too thick, add a little more cream. 🍪I bake my cookie cakes in 8 inch round pans- I like to bake at a slightly lower temperature so the outside doesn’t brown too quickly at around 325 for 25-30 minutes until the cookies are golden brown. 🍪Let the cakes cool completely before removing from the pans- the cookies will be soft out of the oven but will set up as they cool! 🍪I like to flip the first cake upside down so the second one has an even surface to sit on and the cake will be straight. 🍪 I use the double layer cookie cake recipe from @Design Eat Repeat, Easy Baking 😊 #cookiecake #cakedecorating #bakingideas #caketutorial #cakedecoratingvideos
