Kins and fictionkins are actually 2 different things! Fictionkinning refers to spiritually, emotionally, or mentally identifying as a fictional character due to past experiences, traumas, etc and normally has ties to peoples beliefs in several universes or reincarnation, whilst kinning a character is simply relating to a character or enjoying a characters complexities. The two both use kinning as a term just in different ways which can make it get mixed up but theyre two separate ideologies! Absolutely no hate just wanting to inform, feel free to correct me if im wrong tho ( ꈍ ᴗ ꈍ )

kinning = relating to a character / seeing yourself in them, VS: fictionkinning = believeing YOU and that character are the same person // in a past life or in future life (?) or in anothe uniers that character IS YOU

Fictionkin describes an involuntary, core self-identity where a person deeply identifies as a fictional entity or character, rather than simply relating to them. This identity spans a vast spectrum of experiences, ranging from psychological associations and coping mechanisms to spiritual and multiverse beliefs.
