she's a teenager going through her own problems too and yeah I'd be pretty annoyed if my brother was loud in the Middle of the night if im tying to sleep. she's Not her brothers caretaker . she's not...In the final lines she said something similar to "he has his problems too, doesn't he? don't worry" meaning that she didn't want to worry their parents about problems that don't concern them... a person's independent growth is also important, maybe her sister didn't choose the best one but she certainly chose something understandable...

Even if she did come to comfort him, would that even help. Hes in a state of hysteric, hes grieving. Shes still concerned, but as sfhe said, she doesnt know whats going on, and do you1 really want to intrude on that. Do you want to explain to your sister that your crush has a girlfriend which implies that youll never be able to have a romantic relationship with said crush, it would be embarassing. Its best you just give space, give room for indipendent growth. If he really needed consolation, he'd come up to her in his own initiative.
