I also take a self addressed pre stamped envelope just in case I need to mail them to myself. I fly all the time with my needles. Never had a problem.

I’ve flown to Budapest, Dominican Republic and throughout Canada (domestically for me) and had no issues bringing my chiaogoos! I do only bring the needles sizes I need though in case so on they off chance they take them I only loose a size or two. I always take them in my carry on, and take my case out while going through security and say “THESE ARE KNITTING NEEDLES” LOL

I took some cheap ones I didn’t care about JUST IN CASE. and put it with random pencils too because I would’ve cried if they took them. I didn’t care about the needles, but I need my knitting. They didn’t take them away at the airport.

I’ve heard it also helps if you have an active project on a pair, proving they’re actually for knitting but idk!

Check the airport guidelines where you’re flying! I have TSA safe scissors but they got taken in Australia because they’re sticklers 😖

I’ve never had a problem but it is spooky! I’ve heard of people taking them off the cord and putting them in a pencil case. I have heard that metal needles get taken more than wood 🤷♀️

I’ve flown with interchangeables and I’ve just taken the tips off to go through security. Recently I flew from Canada to London and back. Good luck!

i have flown with a bag full of needles and nothing ever happened. but i only use wooden needles, metal might be more of a problem

So technically you CAN take knitting needles on both the flight and on the cruisebased in my recent travels and MUCH research… However, I have seen that wood needles are less likely to be taken. Also, some tips I saw were to take the needs off the project and bring them in a small pencil case/bag.

I think for the most part you’re good traveling in the US. I flew from NV to FL with my ciaogoos just fine 😊 and yes you can bring them on cruise ships!

never had them taken in the us! but chances are higher outside of the states :( I’ve gotten away with it though outside of the us by putting them in a little pen case with some other pens!
