@briabeea: I personally worked at Aquatots Swim School in Beavercreek Ohio and it was under new, VERY POOR, management. They DO NOT PRIORITIZE safety like they claim. Keep your kiddos safe🙂 #swimlessons #watersafety #aquatots #aquatotsswimschool #drowningprevention

i used to work at the aquatots in Powell OH I had like maybe a week of training and was thrown to the wolves, I thankfully had previous experience that helped. I was never told I needed a cpr certification or anything or the sorts. I ended up leaving 4 months in, I got a different swim school job that i’ve been at for 2 years and absolutely love it.

Cannot recommend Goldfish Swim School enough. Safety is such a priority and it’s obvious from day one (an an employee or parent). It’s genuinely such a fun, happy atmosphere and everyone cares about kids so much

And the fact that child & infant cpr is so different… if you do it like you would an adult, you’ll break all of their ribs. You only use fingers for compressions and it’s very easy to learn so it’s a shame they didn’t teach you

i worked at NJ swim and they are under the Elmer swim. i do NOT recommend sending your kids their either. they barely taught us cpr, expired medical equipment, people being mean and even violent towards special needs children. the staff was cruel and horrible to kids i had to quit because i couldn’t watch it and do nothing

thank for spreading awareness on this queen, this needed to be heard especially given how quickly and easily kids will get hurt in water

As a mom of an autistic child you definitely did the right thing protecting him when he ran into the bathroom by himself and all the other kids running to the parking lot. I literally love and appreciate people who protect and watch out for autistic children you did nothing wrong

As a customer, the level of training has definitely decreased since the schools were sold a few years ago. You can absolutely tell that the new staff aren’t as prepared. Their website states they receive 40+ hours of training but I don’t think that’s truly happening. I watched a sweet young teen cry last spring because she was rushed and scared to not know what she’s doing.

Please omg 😩 just finished week 2 there and the very first class the instructor was reading the instruction card to where we felt like she must have been new or didn’t typically teach that level….

Almost every time we’ve gone (the location you’re talking about) both doors have been wide open. Our baby doesn’t walk yet so I never even thought of how kids could just run out into the parking lot😬

I thought about using aquatots for swimming lessons for my son when he was younger. I ended up choosing a amall town YMCA for the lesson instead and it was great. A super small class and plenty of attention for safety as well.

we did the first few years at this location with my autistic son and once he turned 2.5 and couldn't handle the group setting ( partly because age partly because being on the spectrum) they refused to do anything to help him just said pay 900 a month for private classes or go. so we happily went. been asking what we could do to help him and them make it more inclusive. got nothing in return except "give us more money" essentially. also I second you are in the right. as a autism mommy myself thank you for helping this child.
