@bordercolliesandbryce: If you’re planning a trip to the Central California coast, you HAVE to add this to your itinerary! It was so much fun and the dogs loved it! How cute are the otter moms here? When I found out I could rent a dog-friendly electric boat and go watch the otters on the water in Morro Bay I was sold! We saw new mothers with their babies, we saw them lounging on the water, we saw them playing and we saw them cracking open their shells and eating. On top of that we saw seals, countless sea birds and enjoyed looking at the sail boats in the bay. We rented our electric boat through Bay Cruisers for 1.5 hours and it was the perfect amount of time to enjoy some time on the water with the wildlife. The boats seat up to 8 and have coolers on board for you to bring food and beverages. They provide you with all the information needed to enjoy the wildlife from a safe distance as to not threaten their safety or make them uncomfortable and it was such a great way to spend some time on the water. And speaking of safety - the first thing we did was put on the dogs Ruffwear Float Coat Life Jackets so they had proper, safe floatation jackets in the event of an emergency. The dogs loved listening to the seals bark and seeing the otters pop in and out of the water and I loved sharing that experience with them.
