As the President delivers his State of the Nation Address, we also call on our universities to reflect on the true state of academic freedom and democratic rights inside university. Because the true state of our nation is also reflected in how we treat the young people, the future of our generation who speak out, question authority, and demand accountability. To our universities: will you stand with students who defend truth and justice, or will you allow your campuses to become spaces where fear replaces critical thinking?
