@careclarkbsn: As I’m getting closer to delivering my second baby, I’ve been mentally prepping for the breastfeeding stage again & found these old videos in my phone.🥹 When babies do this it’s called “cross-identification”, where they touch or grab their mom’s face while feeding. They do this because they’re understanding you are a separate person from them; giving them love, nourishment, safety, warmth. And they want to give you something back in return. I find that so sweet 🥹💕 Also - another cool plus - it gives your body the chance to identify any germs their baby may have been exposed to, so your milk can adapt & produce antibodies as needed!!! I’m an infant teacher. When feeding them, we are trained to talk to them. I hold their tiny hand and just talk about anything, tell them about my day. I even sing to them 🥰 the feedings are my favorite part 🫶🏼
