Our third annual Culture Makers 🤍 My heart is so full. A few years ago, Tracy and I kept coming back to the same conversation. So many of us had spent our careers walking into rooms where we were the only one, quietly shape-shifting to make everyone else comfortable. We wanted to create something different. A space where our community could finally exhale and simply be our fullest, truest selves. That’s what last night was. A night filled with genuine community, connection, and so much love. Because we don’t move anything forward on our own. We do it together. By screaming each other’s names from the rooftops. By watching the movie, sharing the story, investing in the founder, and showing up for each other publicly and privately. By building a community that understands someone else’s success has never taken away from our own. It only expands what’s possible for all of us. This year we had the privilege of honoring a true Culture Maker and icon, #WillyChavarria. Willy, thank you for your artistry, your vision, and for continuing to use your platform to elevate our culture and expand representation in such a powerful way. The impact of your work reaches far beyond fashion. You have placed Chicano culture on one of the world’s most influential stages without ever compromising who you are. Your work is bold, poetic, deeply human, and continues to inspire people to see our communities through a different lens. To @Sofia Vergara - thank you for opening your beautiful home and for being such an inspiration. To Tracy, my partner in this from the very beginning, this would not be possible without you.
