Have you looked into the Sinclair method ? It’ll cure your brain and effectively reverse alcoholism so that you don’t have to spend the rest of your life “” recovering.”

RFK Jr still goes to a 12 step program after almost 30 years, wherever he is in the country, he finds a program and goes. It is amazing the help the program provides and continues to help those who seek it and ask for help. Recovery looks good on you ❤️

Absolutely. We had an intervention on my mom - who just loved vodka from 4pm to 9pm every night. No DWI. No big dramatic rock bottom. Just us telling her it needed to stop. She didn’t agree at first but now with 14 years of sobriety she is so grateful to be free from that burden.

29 years sober and I can still spiral into the "after so long I'm sure I can just have a glass of wine." Then I remember where a "glass of wine" can take me. We are amazing! Be loud and proud! We made another 24 hours. 😁

I suffered much longer than I should for that exact reason. I still owned a home and had “stuff”. I functioned fairly well and figured if I wasn’t drinking out of a paper bag on a park bench, I wasn’t an alcoholic. How wrong I was. Sober since 12/20/10

Your story reminds me of the sitcom “Mom”…the characters lives followed the same path, their recovery program was in every episode. Love that show!!

I did the dry January and Sober October. During those times of abstinence I found that I was drinking to numb out or to take a break from feeling anxious or sad. It was hard to learn to sit with those feelings.

Thanks, Julie that was a great message. I’ve been in the same program for 10 1/2 years and most definitely the best decision I ever made. It is one day at a time truly.

That part about your world getting smaller and smaller is so true. I haven’t drank in close to 5 years and understand that all too well

I was a high functioning alcoholic until I retired at 63 and started day drinking earlier & earlier until I was 85 lb and in the hospital for liver failure and not expected to leave alive. 5 years later I’m sober with zero desire for my beloved vodka & tonic but vape a little Pineapple Express at night because I still enjoy a bit of a buzz and ….why not 🤷🏻♀️⁉️I know now though that if I hadn’t gotten so deathly ill I wouldn’t even have considered quitting , and I owe it to my family for getting me into hospice care in a nursing home for 3 months to regain my strength to ( hopefully 🙏🏻) never fall off that wagon again!
