This is literally going on with my daughter in law right now!!! A company hired her as a CSM she did all the pre hire work and a drug test. Went in for her first day of training and watched management training videos. She goes in today and they tell her they are taking the position from her and demoting her to cashier. She said no. Getting in touch with HR. Another cashier told her that the old CSM is trying to come back. My daughter in law is going to reach out to HR

I may be reading this wrong, but if the person that was wanted the most said no with first offer, then the second person seems more reliable. Like I said, I may have taken this in wrong, but no one wants someone that keeps changing their mind.

Can I just say thank you wholeheartedly for these videos! My husband works for a was small company… not huge… but still no proper HR. He and I have watched dozens and dozens of these together as I find ones applicable to what’s gone on in his work. It has helped so much put things in perspective and he’s pushed for so many company policy changes because I’m not the only one saying it. (Dang I wish id trained to be in HR) I so wish you worked with Canadian companies, if you ever start please let me know. He’s already said they’d hire you in a heart beat!! But regardless these videos really are so impactful for a lot of people navigating stuff

The best option for the company is to hire them both and fire the manager who got them into this mess by sending the second offer. They knew and did it anyway. That will free up budget for the second role too.

So that “taking way too long” was actually 3 days? (As in it mentioned in the video transcripts he sent the offer to his less preferred candidate on a Friday & the mgr was calling Bri to send a new offer on Mon/Tues) That’s still within a reasonable time frame, this mgr is squirrelly as all get out. Can’t wait to hear the why, whether it’s a nepo deal or something else…

Something is VERY wrong for this kind of error to even have a chance of happening. There should be multiple steps and sign-offs for each written offer!

I definitely feel like the Recruiter needs some additional training on job duties. I just feel like that is a major concern or flag for this company on top of this guys issues.
