I give Hekate things that stay on her alter permanently. Keys, jewelry, stones, things I find in nature that will last, cool trinkets, and occasionally food items. Whatever speaks to me, that I think she will like. Those things stay, they belong to her, but I do use them sometimes in my rituals, with her permission. Once a week I gift her a dozen roses, occasionally I’ll leave a whole pomegranate, honey, garlic clove, oranges. Which I remove a few days later. Etc. y’all are focused on the wrong thing. It’s about intent only.

I put honey in glass vile, in a small dish and sound it with garlic and amethyst and I’ll leave it there 3-5 usually, I will righten that up. I do weekly offerings and worship for Hecate. I’m more of an alchemist based in transformation and am now venturing into this

I always ask if they're done with it. sometimes they say yes after 24 hrs, sometimes they want it for a little longer. I also ask if they want me to toss it or place it outside for the animals. that's just me tho 😀

Traditional offerings were thought to be garlic and onion skins , honey , styrax , and well… burnt sacrificial dog . 😳 I don’t suggest the last one . Hekate is the guide of the downtrodden , the unloved , the abused , the broken , the outsider , the witch . She was accompanied by black dogs , the dead and had a special fondness for those with very little to offer physically. I wouldn’t

My biggest concern with leaving offerings & timeframes is my combo pack of ADHD and the brain fog of perimenopause. I have genuinely forgotten offerings I intended to remove earlier bc my brain was not helping me. Watching this video made me think that what I should do is to set an “event” notification on my phone to remind me to remove an offering after a set period of time. It’s not even that I’m not noticing her alter or spending time there but rather that the task itself will simply be forgotten bc my brain is mush these days 🙃 Thank you for this video. It’s very helpful. My greatest concern ever is being being (or coming across) as disrespectful to Mother Hekate. 🥺

when I leave an alcohol offering, I notice what is and isn't accepted--accepted evaporates quickly, whereas what's not loses carbonation, color, etc.

This is an interesting point of view. In other traditions like Orisha traditions the offerings should spoil and grow bugs maggots etc. That shows that life was born from what you offered: abundance , wealth etc. The gods don’t eat like u said it’s about the energy of the offering so why would She Our Queen be bothered by old food offerings. Is there sacrifice in leaving the food for long? Yes and th at is also an energy given. Just a thought, I respect your view as well. Hail hekate
