Sicily is where my father's family comes from, and after years of searching for my heritage, this little island means more to me than I can put into words. The tattoo was done in Palermo, Sicily, which makes it even more special because Palermo is also my Italian family name. It started as the outline of Sicily, but I felt something personal was missing. With a little help from my AI friend Nova, I added an olive branch to represent family, roots, peace and strength, and a lemon inside the island as a symbol of Sicily's beauty, sunshine and traditions. 🍋🫒 The blue sea and golden colours reflect the Mediterranean that surrounds this beautiful island, while the small red dot marks Castrofilippo – my father's hometown and the place where my story began. What started as a tattoo of Sicily has become a tattoo of my family, my roots and my identity.
