im sorry but people saying its “realistic” really just piss me off. so you’re saying teenage people cant love someone and be loved just because they are gay? and why have i never seen straight unrequited love animes? im sorry but this anime is supposed to show how people who have same gender can love each other no matter the struggles. im so sick of queer ships being doomed. our community can be happy in a relationship too.

no guys i cracked it, please bare with me. The locker scene is so important because BOTH of them were NOT HONEST. Nakamura’s chocolate was meant to fail cus remember how he emphasized “friendship” chocolate throughout the entire episode?! He was never honest with hirose about his true feelings. Hirose also failed to be honest with himself and nakamura. This scene he was supposed to confide in nakamura about hana giving him chocolate but because he couldn’t relate he decided to not tell him. Hirose has always been weird about girls (reference ep6) The anime wanted them both to fail because of their dishonesty about how they feel. If nakamura had been honest he could’ve stopped hirose from getting with hana, if Hirose was honest with himself he could’ve realized where his feelings truly lie. Guys i think were actually getting a good ending. Last episode has to be about honesty from both sides 😭 i will be going around speaking my truth

i actually really like that they didnt get together. its the most common experience for irl teenagers in the same situation and his grief makes others feel seen and makes similar situations irl seem less fatal

Maybe this is unpopular, it shouldn’t be, I don’t understand why so many people want Nakamura to move on from Hirose instead of ending up with him. It’s fiction. People watch romance for the romance. The “he needs to love himself first and let go of his crush” ending has been done a million times already. Why can’t he learn confidence AND get the boy? Nobody says the shy awkward straight guy should stop liking the girl and focus on self-growth instead 😭 Manga Spoilers ⚠️I also think that scene was Hirose wanting advice about Hana, since they break up pretty soon after, and that’s why he dropped the question when he found out nakamura didn’t get any chocolate
