Mine wasn’t quiet. Legit someone quit, they called me up to the management office, and said “congrats we have added a second set of tasks for you!” I asked what the compensation change was for doing twice the work and they handed me a literal job application for a different job to work at night. They said if I “wanted money instead of to be a team player” that I should work more jobs outside of work hours, and it was not their responsibility to pay more for more work.

My job became 4.5 jobs over the course of 7 months. I'm convinced that this is why its so difficult to find a job right now. Instead of staffing properly companies are loading more tasks on the current employees. Most people can't afford to leave these ridiculous situations because we need to pay bills, and have medical insurance.

My manager just got fired and I am coming in doing his job and mine now. Getting paid virtually nothing too. Insane how companies think this is alright

I get 40 hours, but 80 hours are allocated for my department. They won't hire another person, so yes, I do the job of 2 + people 😂

Yep. Recession of 2001? i think. All the older people were forced to retire. Then layoffs of certain folks. I ended with 4 jobs. Nothing to it. I did mine (lab work), wrote an SOP. I tackled the other 3 after mine which involved payroll, scheduling of trucks and shipping containers in one shot. I wrote SOPs for all which cut the job of 3 people to 3 hours, plus chemist job (mine) to 3-4. And I went to college full time. I’m enjoying my life very much as that job is the reason I got the skills to land the job that kick started my career.

People think I’m an 🫏 🕳️because I refuse extra work, clock out on the dot and don’t answer my phone if I’m not working. I do my job exceptionally well but if you want more then pony up the cash 💰

We just had one guy quit and another fired. I will gladly take their after hours work at time and a half, their on call rate of an additional $10hr and their weekend service calls at double time. In my case, extra work equals extra pay, and I will take it all. It's Thursday and I am already at 41 hours.
