I’m not sure if you can still do this, but in the past you could ask an employee to open any item so you can try it before buying. If you don’t want to buy, they’ll just take it back to their break room. I discovered this because an employee asked if I wanted an ice cream sandwich so he could open the box and have one himself haha

And crazy enough it’s one of the cheapest grocery stores in San Diego even tho it feels like an upgraded experience! The ghost pepper chips & the dulce de leche ice cream are incredible! You have to try them

Trader Joe's is very nice because they tailor each store to the regional taste. Great individual customer service. For example, the ghost pepper chips are popular nationally, but aren't as popular locally. My family is the main consumer locally haha, so they tailor the amount that the local store stocks so that we are well fed. Much love to the local location. Best in the country ❤️

Yes, Trader Joe’s is just as American as the XL and overwhelming Walmart experience. Thank you for sharing this and welcome to the US!

The Trader Joe’s brand name is how they keep costs low for us consumers. They go directly to the food suppliers and have a manufacturing company exclusively for them.

It’s not a “supermarket”. It’s a specialty store. They only sell their own branded foods.

At my town’s Trader Joe’s they have a little stuffed animal hidden in the store. It is placed in a new spot every so often. If a kid tells the cashier where it is they get a lollipop! 😊
