I know this is crazy but sometimes if it’s cheap stuff I’ll just buy it out of pocket. Bananas are so inexpensive. $2 maybe. I only do this every blue moon, a good deed here and there 💙🙏🏽

yeah the customer puts no substitutions for that item and it won't let me scan a new item. I had that happen with bread and she took away my tip because of it

I see you keep saying you weren't comfortable doing that, but in this situation I personally would have made an exception. Only because she asked to just buy them and also because of her situation. My dad is elderly and I would want someone to do it for him. I would have just explained to her I will buy with my own money and she will have to compensate when I get there, personally I wouldnt have had her compensate but if the funds was the issue I would definitely would have mentioned it since im going above and beyond.

Idk if this helps, but when there's no substitution I will choose the no sub option until it's shows that the item wasn't found and I go to completed items and I edit the item and scan the substitution. It let's me do it that way.
