I would say it was fair sentencing. I only read it quickly but it seems Anthony is a violent person and was violent from the beginning of the case. there is something mechanically wrong with him so the purpose of punishment here isn't to rehabilitate, it's to keep him in line and keep him off the streets. you can't teach people who have something fundamentally wrong with their brains. that's personally not legally because I'm not from the US.

These facts change a lot of things, if Austin didn’t have any intention to fight, bully, or degrade Anthony, and simply just wanted him to leave the premises. Then the “perceived threat via Austin being a bully argument” wouldn’t work, and it would also mean that Austin’s push, although there is no consensus for how strong this push was, was most likely a signal to Austin that he should leave the premises, rather than it being a threat. Anthony being aggressive from the start implies he was the issue from the start. Now I don’t know what the universal definition for self-defence is, but if we consider self defense as just, harming someone when they harmed you, then we can consider it self-defence. However this is not a justifiable use of self-defence by any means, because Austin’s push cannot be proven to be an act of harm, rather it could be an act to signal Anthony to leave the premises, it could also be an act to portray that he doesn’t wanna fight Anthony and he just wants Anthony to leave the premises because he’s causing a disturbance. Anthony having his hands in his bag and saying “touch me and see what happens” implies that if Austin touched him, he was likely going to get out his knife and stab austin. This isn’t necessarily premeditated, but during the heat of the moment, he definitely did plan to stab Austin if anthony touched him, and bevause Austin didn’t intend to fight him at all and only wanted him to leave, it’s obvious Austin wasn’t a threat at all, and Anthony just wanted him to touch him, so that he could have a reason to harm Austin. Taking all these facts into considering, I personally view anthony as guilty, and nothing he did here was justifiable by any means. Considering the consensus on Austin’s push is not widely agreed on, it could have been a tap, or a small push, making Austins death completley unjustifiable, especially if he portrayed that he had no intent to fight and simply wanted Anthony to leave the premises.
