Hair stylist here. Brush it out but then grab a spray bottle and get it damp and re-scrunch. I have wavy hair like this and when I wash it I use IGK’s beach club texture foam and scrunch. Let it air dry completely before touching it and then flip your head a few times. Then everyday all you need to do is brush it, spray it with water, and rescrunch. Maybe some dry shampoo at the root.
