I am someone who's been through real day trading losses. ive lost 350K in a single week. I've lost 6 figures MANY times. The stress and depression is unreal. It can absolutely ruin your life. I am one of the lucky ones who was able to be profitable and live a great lifestyle, but it definitely came at a cost. I quit teaching trading a few years ago because 99% of people simply couldnt do it and lost all of their money. It looks glamorous on social media, but in reality, its one of the most challenging pursuits anyone can take on. I agree with your gambling argument to an extent. Most people will turn it into gambling. However, this does not apply to all, but most.

This lady is so incredibly special. People have no idea how important this information is. Especially with how financially difficult this world is and people chase relief via the markets. This is especially dangerous for people with ADHD. I almost lost this exact same battle and it took me 5 years to come back from. I wish you and your family nothing but the best.

What was the bad trade? He traded for 7 years. There is no way with that much experience he would act the way you’re describing. Maybe year 1-3 I can understand but 5+ years? He must have not known how to trade and definitely no risk management system.

No risk management, no discipline unfortunately. Saying day trading is bad is like saying food is bad. Both are dangerous in the hands of an irresponsible person. There’s an entire eco system in the economy that depends on trading positions/futures etc and a lot of people have successful careers with these finance sectors. So while your experience might have been a bad one, it doesn’t make trading itself a bad thing.

Your husband has no risk management or any sort of discipline if he’s chasing losses and behaving the way you’re saying he has. Not everyone will be cut out for trading and that’s completely okay.
