Does Australia have large stockpiles of basic older weapons (rifles, machine guns, hand grenades) like say the Germans or soviets had in case of mass mobilisation? Say if there was a need tomorrow do those weapons currently exist for like 300k conscripts?

I think people forget that we aren’t at war. And if we were we could field army an of over 1 million

something I have wondered for the last year. Should Australia consider removing tanks from service and have infantry/land focused primarily on urban/drones warfare and have primary spending on navy/airforce. say 40/40/20 split?

With Australia being a middle power with a relatively small population are there any asymmetric methods you feel we should learn into instead of sticking full to the modern warfare methods of other liberal democracies?

I find the M1A2 numbers really strange we replaced 59 M1A1 Tanks with 75 M1A2 but only have 36 in a Operational unit (2 Cav) we used to have a Regiment of 42 (1 Armd) what's the point of buying more but fielding less. seems like a waste of money if we aren't utilising them

75 M1A2SEPV3. And yes their is an AI platform on its way with the Atlas Ccv. I believe they are also retrofitting out the old M113s APCs as force multipliers for multiple roles.
The Atlas's will possibly be used as an Air Drop Platform for capturing Airfeilds & land to put in a base.

These tanks were never going to be deployed, pretty sure we went with this platform so that we could borrow/operate this type of tank deployed by our allies

Do you feel the role of the main battle tank is in doubt / question with the advent of drone warfare?

An explanation I heard for one of the underlying reasons we have tanks, is to retain institutional competence in tanks. So that in the event, there would be a need to have tanks, we wouldn't have a military that had to learn to field them from scratch.

We dont have Armoured Regt. 1 Armd is experimental unit. The Cav Regts are now ACRs Sqns of Lavs(boxers) and tanks.

Australia is an island nation. You don’t have any land borders. Tanks would be useless.

What would be the optimal structure of the Australian military given our remoteness and low population in proportion to our size? For instance, should we focus mainly on navy due to our isolation, then air force, then army? Love to hear your thoughts.

does the Australian military plan to implement drones into their strategy after their effectiveness has been shown in Ukraine?

Love the videos. If there was all out war would we have enough experienced soldiers to teach civilians soldiering at scale if those divisions/company’s have pushed to forward projection/fighting already ?
