I don't condone cheating in any shape or form, so I'm not taking either person's side here. The one thing that stood out to me is that, even though you saw text messages that looked suspicious, you never openly talked to him about what you saw. Instead, it seemed like you immediately went into "I'm going to get him back" mode and assumed there was more going on. People can talk about high school, old crushes, or missed opportunities all they want, but where does that automatically become cheating? That's the part I'm struggling to understand. What also confuses me is that when he said he wanted some quiet time to think and process everything, he got criticized for not communicating. But at the same time, there wasn't open communication from your side either. You didn't sit down and ask him about the messages before making assumptions. It's interesting how so many people say communication is the foundation of a healthy relationship, yet when problems come up, honest conversations often don't happen. In this situation, it seems like neither person communicated well about what was actually going on. The way she reacted honestly makes me wonder if there was more happening on her side than she's admitting. Maybe not—but the reaction raises questions. At the end of the day, if you're at the point where cheating is involved, or you're looking for ways to get even instead of talking things through, it's probably healthier to end the relationship and movez
