I think the quest was too short, it didn't even get a cutscene. We could have had a cutscene that showcased Varka diluc and trav fighting Ursa on their side and Lohen fighting the churls on his side, so that it would highlight the fact Lohen says he's not strong enough for all of Teyvat's challenges and him coming to term with that. I think Lohen's quest deserved as much attention as Linnea's because it talked about lore that players have been waiting to know more about for a while All that in a patch that already didn't even give Nicole an actual story quest

They could have connected Lohen to crucabena, and had him be sold to the house of the hearth and see people around him be killed causing him to be the way he is and when arlechinno killed crucabena he was able to escape back to mondstadt. But that’s just my opinion

i don’t think genshin had good enough writing to properly utilise a villain like dottore lol. the fatui in general to be honest but him specifically. at the bottom line the company wants money and that will inadvertently impact the story and how characters interact with one another. à la #poweroffriendship. the fatui suffer from this all of them are bad people or, more accurately, have done bad things but the game seeks out to redeem them no matter the cost. besides dottore. when you’re second ever harbinger is debuted like this it kind of loses its selling and emotion power by the 6th time. not to mention the inconsistencies with how the traveler treats the harbingers vs regular grunts of the fatui. archon quests vs world quests. i think genshin suffers from too many cooks spoil the broth imo. there seems to be too many people working on the game and not enough communication to have consistency.

They never said he's psychotic because he got kidnapped the quest was just trying to explain his reasons for wanting more power especially after his fight with rerir(reading his character stories makes it clear that he was always a little bit different and unlike the other children he was actually planning to escape by using a weapon and complained a lot about the other kids crying in their cells so he's not this way just because of the kidnapping) also it's very obvious that they were trying to connect lohen to eroch more and how he might turn out like him and make the same decisions as him so the quest was centred around him and not dottore (obviously he had a part in it but you know what I mean) even Rerir is more of a villain here since he's one of the main reasons that lohen started experimenting on himself

I know it's kinda underwhelming for some, but for someone who's a deep, deep, deep lore lover, I kinda get the appeal. This isn't just Genshin rehashing Dottore as a villain. This is Genshin's way of showing that Dottore *is* the villain. Diluc, Collei, Scara, and now Lohen these characters show just how deeply Dottore messed up people's lives with his so-called experiments. Even though he's supposed to be "gone," the effects of his actions still linger. The trauma is still there, and they're all still trying to recover from it. You can also see how each character copes with that trauma in different ways.Again, kudos to Genshin's storytellers.

I mean, ever since sumeru we've known that dottore is behind a LOT of stuff (crepus, scara, collei, tatarasuna incident, etc.), he's always been portrayed as this pure evil guy who has a hand in pretty much everything, him having a god complex and obsession with the moon dates back to inversion of genesis, so why is it so surprising that he was the main villain in nod krai? or that he has more victims than just scara and collei when experimenting on children has been his thing since literally the manga dropped? I fear that "dottore is genshin's scapegoat" is a lore skipper talking point, he's not a scapegoat he's a villainous plot driver and always has been that
