@jmswellbeingcentre: Everybody has met somebody who belongs to a minority group. An autistic person. A Muslim person. An immigrant. A disabled person. A person from a differenr part of town. A person from a different race, religion, culture or background. The question isn't whether you've met them. The question is how you judged them. Because when somebody from a group we see as familiar makes a mistake, we often grant them individuality. They're having a bad day. They've had a difficult life. They're struggling. They're human. But when somebody from a group we don't personally identify with makes the same mistake, do we judge the person? Or do we judge the category? Do they remain an individual? Or do they become evidence? #AutismAwareness #HumanBehaviour #Psychology
pple just need to deal with everyone on a person by person basis. there are good and bad pple in the world. one bad person doesn't define a whole community.

I studied this so it’s difficult to describe in a nutshell, but it’s basically called protecting Identity. Deeply held beliefs; especially political, religious, or social prejudices, are tied to a person's sense of self and community. Changing that belief feels like losing part of who they are. So subtyping comes into it.

So true, I’m fed up of saying people that they shouldn’t tar everyone in a certain category with the same brush! ❤️
