🚨 Handling snide remarks👇 🧠 Unfortunately sometimes people say things with not so good intentions behind the words. This can be for all sorts of reasons which you have no control over. 🚫 When someone shares something hurtful in an attempt to try and put you down and make you feel bad, it can be tempting to want to find out more. I would recommend avoiding this especially with someone delivering information in a way that could hurt you. 💡Most of the time we are good at sensing the intention behind someone’s words so when you sense someone may be sharing information that isn’t coming from the best of intentions I would recommend refocusing the conversation onto them. These two phrases are really helpful: “I’m curious what your intention is behind sharing this information?” “What was the outcome you were hoping for in sharing this information?” ▶️ These two phrases shift the focus onto them and get you back in control. I would then recommend not engaging and redirecting the conversation like I show in this video. 💡Even if the information is true, some information doesn’t need to be shared particularly if it is likely to hurt someone. If it needs sharing then it must be shared respectfully and constructively. 💬 Leave a 🙌 in the comments if you’re gonna keep this up your sleeve 👀 📌 Please be mindful that the perspective offered in this video is generalised and won’t fit every situation so please follow your instincts about whether this applies to your situation.
