@catlovesu6: For seven years, Jennie and Lisa had been each other’s quiet constant. Everyone around them saw how they fit, but Jennie’s parents had never truly accepted it. They came from a long line of powerful names, and to them, love was secondary to duty and status. One day, Jennie’s parents tell her big news. “We have found someone for you to marry,” they say. “This will help our family. You must do it.” Jennie feels sad and scared. “But I love Lisa!” she says. Her parents shake their heads. “You will forget her, this is how it must be.” She steps forward, voice shaking but loud. “No! I will never forget her, how can you say that? Lisa is not just someone I know — she is my whole world.” Her father’s face turns serious. “Do not talk back, this is for our family’s good.” “Good?” Jennie cries out. “How is this good if I will be sad? I have loved her for years! You cannot just tell me to throw that away like it means nothing.” Her mother tries to speak softly. “You are young, you will meet someone else.” Jennie shakes her head hard, tears running down her cheeks. “No, there is no one else! She falls to her knees, begging now. “Please I will do anything else. I will work hard, I will help the family but do not take her away from me. Do not make me spend my whole life pretending to love someone.” But her parents just look away. “The decision is made. There is nothing more to say.” Jennie stands up slowly, feeling like her heart is breaking into pieces. She turns and runs out of the house, straight to the place where she knows Lisa is waiting. —— When she gets there, her face is wet and her chest hurts so much she can barely breathe. Lisa sees her and runs over quickly. “Hon! What happened? Why are you crying like this?” Jennie grabs Lisa’s hands, shaking all over. “Hon they won’t listen. They say I have no choice. They are forcing me to marry someone else.” Lisa freezes, like her whole world just stopped. “What? No hon, we promised each other.” “I don’t want this, Hon. I only want you!”Jennie sobs, falling into Lisa’s arms. Lisa holds her tight, tears starting to fall from her own eyes. “So we have to say goodbye, hon?” Jennie pulls back just enough to look into her eyes, her voice is quiet but full of so much love and pain it hurts to hear. “Listen to me, hon. Even if I marry someone else, even if I wear a ring. When I eat, I’ll remember us, when I sleep, I’ll dream of you. Every single second I’ll always be thinking of you. You’re the only one I love, hon.” Lisa cries and kisses her forehead. “And I’ll be here, hon. I’ll wait forever. I’ll never stop thinking of you either.” They hold on tight, knowing it might be the last time. —— The soft music starts, and the big church doors swing open. All eyes turn toward the entrance. Jennie stands there, dressed in white, holding a bouquet of flowers. She looks like a perfect bride, but her face is pale, and her eyes hold no joy. Slowly, she begins to walk down the long aisle. Step by step, she moves forward, but every step feels heavy, like she is walking toward a cage. She keeps her head up, but her eyes are searching the crowd not for the man waiting at the altar, but for the one person. And there she is. Near the back, standing half-hidden by a pillar, is Lisa. Jennie’s breath catches. For a moment, she almost stops walking. She looks right at Lisa, and all the pain she has been holding back rises up in her throat. She wants to run, to shout that this is all wrong, but people are watching. So she keeps walking, but her eyes never leave Lisa’s face. When she finally reaches the front, she turns just slightly. No one notices the small movement. Across the room, their eyes lock. It feels like time stops. Jennie’s lips move, silent but clear. “I’m only here because I have to. Every step, every breath, I’m thinking of you, hon.” Lisa sees it. Tears spill over and run down her cheeks. She knows Jennie has no choice. see com sec! miss u guys #jennie #lisa #jenlisa #au #fyp

JL :
She knows staying here will only make it harder. So she gives a small, sad nod telling Jennie she understands, and slowly turns toward the door.
--
She walks away, her shoulders shaking, thinking that this is the end.
--
Inside the church, Jennie watches her go.

There's always a choice. You chose not to choose us, not to choose me. Maybe your love just wasn't enough to fight for us - Lisa

Sometimes maturity isn’t choosing between right and wrong.
It’s choosing between two painful truths.
