During the 1999 Kargil War, he displayed extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice while defending strategic positions in the Gultari sector. Despite being heavily outnumbered and facing intense enemy attacks, he led his soldiers from the front and launched counterattacks to defend his posts. On 5 July 1999, he embraced martyrdom while fighting bravely for his country. In recognition of his unparalleled valor and devotion to duty, he was posthumously awarded Pakistan’s highest military honor, the Nishan-e-Haider.
