My mom had a heart attack & didn't even know. They found out afterwords at an annual exam because it showed in her bloodwork.

How do you diagnose the condition in a woman? I'm afraid my MIL may be experiencing what you're describing.

Had a colonoscopy they did EKG pre-op, cardiologist read it and said I’ve had a heart attack. I didn’t even know. So weird because my labs are all really good.

And how should we approach the diagnosis? How should do we suspect it? And how do we confirm or roll it out? Is it an ST segment elevation on the ecg? Is there a cardiac enzymes spike? Give me more to work with please doctor

Plus, they rarely say they’re having chest pain. I frequently get thoracic back pain, with indigestion. When I hear, “If I could just belch, I’ll feel better.” I stand EKG for you!

My mom’s NSTEMI last year caused her shoulder pain. The EMTs didn’t take her seriously until the ER checked her troponin 😬

My mom’s only symptom was slight chest pain and jaw pain; thankfully she’s an RN and knew the signs.

Okay so I have been having chest pains and shortness of breath usually not at the same time and keep being told it's anxiety which I do deal with but this is different, how do I make the doctor listen?

I told my PCP (woman) 4 months before I told my endocrinologist (man), which took me seriously, about my chest pain after walking a half of a block. Here I am, 6 years later, after triple bypass.

I had heartburn, for 2 months. Could not lay flat, paced the room day/night, drinking Gaviscon by the bottle. I went to get seen about it, as Gaviscon cost £14 a bottle. And wondered if I could get it free on NHS. Dr asked me does it actually work, I thought about it, no. Hooked me up to a GTN drip. Pain was gone. Two weeks later I was having a double heart bypass. Thank goodness I was tight with money, as if it had went on. They said I would if had a massive heart event, that I’d not come back from.

I was told I had anxiety and after xray, then sent for CT - 10 PE in left lung and they stopped counting at 6 in my right. I’d been complaining about chest pain for 6 MONTHS. After that, now I have an anxiety. Thanks!

I have cardiophobia and my doctor is new and they suggested exposure therapy aha then she was like “no I don’t mean have a cardiac event I just mean listen to heart attack stories, research it and expose yourself to the thoughts” … basically this video is helping for sure usually id skip after hearing heart attack and then have anxiety for the next 4 hours thinking it’s a heart attack

A friend of mine had a heart attack. He went to A&E and was treated for a chest infection. How on earth is a heart attack missed nowadays.
