Did you catch her wink at the end? 🤭 I have been so nervous to fly with Boreal but she did AMAZING on our first flight! Even with how impossibly squishy the airplane was, taking our gear off, me carrying WAY too much stuff, and even other dogs barking at us in the airport... 🫠🤦‍♀️ I'm sooo grateful for all the work we've put in & that I could reward her with her favorite high value treat - air/freeze dried ruff bites! These bites actually have all the essential ingredients to be a full meal with whole foods like beef liver, chia seeds, zucchini, carrots, and apples. I love that I can break them into as many tiny pieces as I need to and that they are shelf stable for when we are on the go (which is pretty much always 😂🤍). I have learned a lot from our 1st flight and feel even more prepared for our next one 🫶 Some things I've learned: 🐾 print out a little handout and keep them in your pocket if people have questions about your dog that answer common questions like breed, age name, and proper etiquette with a service dog. 🐾 Carry minimal as possible - oftentimes planes will check your carry on for free at the gate if they don't have room in the cabin overhead. Keep essentials on you and put everything else (carry on and personal item) overhead. Your legs and their curled bodies will thank you 🤭 🐾 Be aware of cabin pressure - I keep a water bottle on hand so I can have Boreal drink if she seems uncomfortable but she's used to some pretty big altitude shifts 🐾 Traffic leads can be a lifesaver. Sometimes your hands can be full and its nice to have your dog still technically leashed to you without them or anyone else tripping or getting caught. Plus it can be great for keeping them close in a crowded environment. I am sooo grateful for my traffic lead and new Renner memorial vest from @zebratailcreations 🥺🤍😭 🐾 Practice tucking - this was probably our most used command for tucking under benches, chairs, and the seat in front of me. We also bring a bed cover to lay down so we aren't leaving fur behind and hopefully minimizing germs getting on her. Let me know if you have any other questions! #servicedog #samoyed #adventuredog #dogtravel #servicedogsoftiktok
