50/50 is fair. You split the bills, you both contribute to your joint savings account and you keep whatever else you want for yourself. The person with the higher paying job shouldn't pay more because of their employment

We do the same! all money into our joint account, we both have our own separate accounts that we deposit money into fortnightly to spend on what we want or save. It totally works for us!

My partner and I do it this way , except we have one joint account , once bills are paid we then divide the remaining money over , emergency, car, holiday , mortgage , savings , his and her wage in the bills our savings is included but we have enough to contribute more after. Doing this for 2 years and we paid off a lot
