I wouldn’t do it again. 9 years in now. 26 yrs in the trade. Absolutely burned out. I should’ve pushed to grow and build from the beginning but u was content doing it all. Had 5 guys working for me at one point. 2 now. I couldn’t work for anyone else now though.

My husband and I quit our jobs at the same time. Traded my Mercedes to buy a van. He built the shelving for it. We had one day to day car and that van. It’s was 6 years in April. We now have multiple vans. Staff!! I wouldn’t change it for the world!!! It brought us closer together. I love what we both do! I love going to job sites, making lunch for the crew. We wouldn’t change it for the world. The struggle was worth it. The day to day struggle is worth it!

As an immigrant, I came to this country with nothing but the desire to work hard. I’m truly grateful to the U.S. for giving me the opportunity to build a better life. After working many different jobs and for many different people, I eventually became an HVAC contractor. Looking back, I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions of my life. It has given me the opportunity to provide for my family and the freedom to build something of my own. Has it been easy? Not at all. Owning a business is incredibly difficult, and there have been many challenges along the way. But knowing everything I know today, I would absolutely do it all over again. Every struggle has been worth it.

People are talking about freedom. FREEDOM??? You don’t own the business. The business owns 24/7 of your time. It’s hard but what helps push through is knowing God is with me and I love what we’re building.

18 years in, added plumbing, stayed small, the freedom I have is priceless. I can make 20k to 100k in sales in 1 day. I also could make $0. I would do it again 💯 for freedom.

I mean, it's very stressful. It's a lot more stressful. I think as far as just the job part of it and being responsible to go and get things done more than when I was working for someone else, but I don't know if I would trade the freedom because I can take off anytime I want to and leave my guys in charge. If things running smoothly now running perfectly enough this is my business. I'm the only one that knows how to run it the way that I want it grand but getting things done doing quality work answering the phone bidding job scheduling jobs. I've worked my way to where I can trust my guys to make sure that they will get things taken taken care of when I am out of the picture my number one thing that I love most about my own business and working for myself as a freedom to takeoff and the money that we make to say if I would do it again I think I probably would just because I'm doing better now than I ever had

I been in the field for 34 years and i finally had enough now i had 70,000 in my 401k so i pulled it all out and ended up with 50,000 to buy a truck and pay for insurance and quickbooks etc. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE within 2 months put my son on another month put my nephew on now i have 3 trucks it’s just been a year July 7 invoices 3 million the first year but i spent so much over this past year all trucks and tools r paid for. House will be paid off by December It’s hard but it’s so worth it so worth it

25 years in business and started when I was 25 years old with my personal truck I always wanted to keep it small. I have two guys that work for me. My son just started with us six months ago when he finish HVAC school. made a decent living throughout the years. Save your money in the summertime for the slow months ahead. Also, I would recommend while you’re young to start a Roth IRA or Sep IRA SOON!! while you’re young don’t need to put much but just for what you can monthly trust me on that

You will do fine your mentality is on point. Don’t look back as to how and why it took to get to where you are just look at the forward path. I’ve been in business for myself for 25 years and a lot of it was just pure luck being at the right place at the right time landing huge accounts other than that every time I felt like giving up the phone ring and my bank account just grows just be patient you will thrive💪🏼. It’s feast or famine just save during the good times

I’m trying dude. It’s definitely not an easy startup, no capital, no relationships, and tons of competition here in CA. I’m a great technician and a decent installer but I’m living off referrals and repeat customer from the years. Grateful to have earned that trust but definitely not pulling the numbers a company needs.

I currently started my own in October of last year. I started from the bottom I now have a truck and 2 vans. Im in the beginning stage, and its not easy but I would do it again Having the freedom I have now is a blessing and Im loving the journey.

I did the same thing man. I got clean, got my license, got a home. Then while I was working for someone I bought a van, then I bought tools literally one at a time until I built my business. Been going 8 years strong now. 💪

I started from nothing 10 years ago and learned by the school of hard knocks. But I have both my sons working full time for me and 2 other employees. Years 3-9 hard as hell because you gotta keep the wheels turning. Years 1-3 easy as hell when it was just me. Looking back where I am now I would but its been a very tough road. Mentally draining more times than I can say.

Not only would I would I do it again, I would do it again and again and again. I literally started from nothing I didn't even have any experience. i pretty much taught myself everything I know from going to school to shadowing People, but I never worked for anybody in this field.

You ain’t lying about the struggle brother. I’m about a year into owning my own business. Some days are awesome, some are down right terrible. However, at the end of the day I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I put all my trust into the lord, bought a van, planted both feet on the ground and started to get after it.
