God is the only one that gives complete comfort and healing. I had to learn this the hard way. I got to know God for myself at a pretty young age too and I've always been in love with him. I met this person and we instantly got close. I used to say that they healed me emotionally because we'd open up to each other and have vulnerable conversations(I've dealt with childhood trauma in the past). I didn't think what we had could lead us anywhere...afterall, we were just friends. Well, things did get out of hand. I was so disappointed and disgusted at myself. For weeks, I'd cry out to God to help me move past it. It was not a nice feeling at all. I was literally punishing myself. Shortly after, the Holy Spirit brought me to the realisation that God did not even remember my sins or the times I strayed. He didn't keep track of it in any way. This gave me so much comfort. We get so carried away looking for love in the wrong places to the extent where we forget that God is the greatest source of love, healing and comfort. Thank you so much for sharing this. May we always lean into the comfort God freely gives. God bless you!🤍
