FYI: this doesn’t work in ALL parking lots, some parking lots are too small to go straight back. Also, the type of car you have matters as well. This will not work with a truck or larger vehicle.. this is why I always back in my truck.

Technically, it's recommended that you back into parking spaces because you have a better view of your surroundings. There are many more accidents caused by people backing out than backing in.

Make sure you are still checking & looking for cars parked behind you in other spaces as well. Some parking lots (lanes & spaces) are closer than others and don’t allow (especially larger cars/trucks) to wait that long before you start turning the wheel.

It’s easier to reverse in btw coming from a new driver myself. I just went to practice parking in an empty car park before even risking reversing in between cars
