Hi I work for Uhaul as a dealer! If the ball came off it’s more likely that you over loaded the trailer and the weight was too much and it sheered off (More common than you expect). A lot of the time also the weight rating is not what you need for what you’re towing/ loading. Hopefully the emergency break worked and it didn’t slam into your truck!
