@shondayoung7: Imagine standing on a platform built by teachers and then looking down on them. Tracy Morgan's comments about teachers having a "ceiling" say far more about him than it does about teachers. Every doctor, lawyer, comedian, athlete, entrepreneur, and entertainer sits in a classroom before they ever step onto a stage, field, or into a boardroom. A teacher was there first. We don't choose this profession because it's lucrative. In fact, most of us could make waaayyy more money doing something else. We choose it because we care about children and believe in their potential, often sacrificing our own time, money, and energy to help them succeed. The irony of mocking teachers while benefiting from the education they provided isn't lost on me. The very people he claims have a "ceiling" are the ones who spend their careers convincing children that theirs doesn't exist. So no, I don't find the comments funny.
