@drkashakhtar: Why is your knee so swollen after surgery? One reason most people don’t expect — the fluid we use during the operation. During keyhole knee surgery, sterile fluid is pumped into the joint under pressure. It expands the space, improves visibility, and washes away blood and debris. Some stays in the joint. Some leaks into the soft tissues. Some pours straight out — like you see here. That’s why the knee looks swollen immediately after surgery. (Also why I wear boots to operate. Wet socks aren’t in my job description.) Your body reabsorbs most of it naturally over the following weeks. To help it along: • Ice • Compression • Elevation • Gentle movement Most swelling settles steadily in the first few weeks to months. Were you surprised by your swelling after surgery? there is a 50% chance that I will have the same surgery...

Totally not! My leg was very slightly swollen, and now, 7 days after ACL reconstruction, it's minimally swollen. I'm using Game Ready - totally Game Changer 💪🏼😁
