The wolf was 10/10, the spider 11/10(second book) the cuckoo 0/10!!! Literally everything about the first two books that are amazing and so well written get thrown out the window for a dumb and very predictable twist that takes 90% of the book to reveal itself. I was so unhappy with that 3rd book. It lives in my head rent free to this day because of it.

Richard Swan is great! Empire of the Wolf is one of my favorite reads of this year so far.

I cannot ever stop recommending Buelhman's Between two fires. A mix of historical fantasy and horror. Battle of good and evil with the highest of stakes set in plague ridden France. There's also a wonderful audio book rendition by Steve West.
