He can still appeal, maybe not on jury bias but there are elements that can be appealed. Is he going to jail yes, however the sentence given was extreme by any measure given the facts of the case.

You are absolutely wrong. A party or a defendant is entitled to a fair trial. If you have an unfair jury then the defendant has been denied his or her right to a fair trial. If a jury says in open court he or she cannot be fair to a defendant, then it would be improper to sit that juror.

I think a large amount of people don’t realize that both sides pick the jurors. So the defense had a say so in the jury not just the prosecution.

I ask this because I truly don’t know how it works. When the judge asks if you can be fair an impartial, if you say no, do you just automatically not have to do jury duty? It just seems like an easy out to me.
