Wait. A business screws up by double booking and the first solution they offer is for the customer to pay $500 to rebook? Absolutely not. If customers let them get away with that and still use their services, they’ll double book every event. “Oh. Would you look at that. We made an extra five thousand dollars last month rescheduling double booked events. Guess what we’re doing this month.”

nah under law the first to book gets the date otherwise there could be a huge lawsuit its not your fault they screwed up so they can't make you chose another date

Happened to my sister. Venue got sold and the new people booked the date she already had reserved. She's gonna be getting married somewhere else now

I'd tell them that we have a contract so either honor it or I will enact the clauses in it that will force you to do a full refund plus 30%.
