@lilivhope: I’ve seen a lot of videos lately about Ariana Grande’s body, and as somebody who has struggled with anorexia for most of my life, I need to say this: you are not helping her. You’re making it worse. This conversation requires a level of understanding, compassion and NUANCE that many people simply do not have. Please stop. #foryou #fyp #arianagrande #tiktoknews #MentalHealth
I know people aren’t helping Ariana grande rn but eating disorders and being that underweight being normalised is a danger to all the young female fans she has.

talking about her body isnt about helping her, it’s raising awareness to people who have loved ones who have anorexia identify the signs. ariana won’t read my comment but a mom, a sister, a friend could… and perhaps do something about it. we will not normalise anorexia. we will not stfu about it. it’s becoming normalised and i spoke about this in 2024 and had people not told me not to stfu i feel my friend would still be around. anorexia offs people quicker than obesity. they are not the same.

Making ANY comment on someone’s body when they have an active ED is horrible. Anyone who has struggled with an ED or anyone who has gone through treatment for an ED, EVERYONE around them is told to NEVER EVER make comments about their body.

unfortunately it isn’t good for ariana but she isn’t a priority?? the priority goes to the young girls hearing her saying she’s the healthiest she’s ever been and then seeing the way she looks and setting unrealistic standards for themselves?? it’s sad and it’s upsetting but like this can’t just be ignored

you need to realize this is bigger than just her. she has millions of fans a lot of them being little girls. we need to make sure it’s clear she is not what you want to look like.

Can you be so fr, she’s reaching a very critical stage of an ed. As someone who USED to have an ed too, she’s too far gone and encouraging her to get help is needed.

I understand but it also needs to be made clear to her young impressionable fans that how she looks is NOT normal and should not be a goal for them

Normalizing an ed is definitely something we shouldn’t do, there is people suffering from it here and they idolize her image now, and theres people who suffered from it that are now recovering speaking, let’s be clear and say this is not okay or normal, people die from this, this is not about bodyshaming, is about caring and begin honest.

It’s not. Her fans are young she was the reason for my ED back then no one has to go through that again. What she’s doing is her problem but we should not act like it’s normal.

She is a role model for teens whom are impressionable. She chooses her outfits to show off her bones. She knows what she is doing. It gives me concern for my teens. People have to be accountable for themselves. All I see if people shocked that she is still standing up.

being intentionally malicious and saying nasty things about someone's appearance is one thing, but pointing out that she is unhealthy is just a fact. She is a public figure with many impressionable young fans so people are going to speak on this to protect kids. Understanding EDs does require nuance, but a lot of that is also understanding that it is a mental health issue and that it is an unstable state of mind in which you cannot see yourself objectively. Tiktok commenters aren't particularly trying to help Grande because that help can only come from people that know and love her, but you cannot expect people to eat this up and lie and say she looks good. I, and many others, have the empathy to understand it is a mental health issue whilst also understanding it doesn't need to continue. The same way I wouldn't let a depressed person think that their solitude and wallowing is getting them better

When you are a public figure and potentially a role model for millions of people, it is only fair that you face criticism, since her fans might follow her example. It’s completely different from an anonymous individual dealing with eating disorders.

I'll be 100% honest. I have also some issues myself since years, and I've NEVER got triggered by ariana's body, but you know what is triggering me? all these people being concerned about her. All these people talking about ED IS triggering me, not Ariana. They want to help people to not get influenced by Ariana but in the end THEY are ruining everything. At least for me.

your struggle with an ED is not universal, I say this as someone who ALSO struggles with an ED & works in advertising — specifically consumer psychology. An example of a person who does not want to be seen bc it’s going to make things worse for them IS NESSA BARRET. Nessa IS SOMEONE WHO GENUINELY attempts to recover & who you can see tries to avoid showing her SICK body at times WHEREAS ARIANA IS PURPOSELY FLAUNTING HERS & INTENTIONALLY SNEAKING SUBLIMINAL MESSAGING IN HER POSTS LIKE THE POST WITH HER GUM. EDS ARE COMPETITIVE — someone who doesn’t want their bodies being spoken about IS NOT GOING TO INTENTIONALLY WEAR THINGS THAT QUITE LITERALLY EMPHASIZE HER SICKNESS. demo lovato is another example of someone who TRULY STRUGGLES rather than flaunts it.

okay but she's literally dying we're not trying to body shame, we're trying to tell her and everyone else that this isn't normal and she needs help
