why is everyone so happy to use ai in the creation of video games, we went literally 30-40 years without it and some of the best games ever made didn’t incorporate ai. this is just excuse for slop

Comment section is incredibly daft, as an artist using AI to conceptualize an idea is a great usage of a tool. It’ll give you a good vision on your idea and final product is fully human-made with no AI assets. Now this is good usage of AI

"We confirmed we use AI". Alright thanks. Concept artists and placeholder objects are literally there for this reason. You can set something up in 5 minutes to see how it looks. Any game studio should already have that concept pipeline.

People will get upset with this, but not with companies having their coders sleep under desks for weeks on end without seeing their family. This is a good use of AI. It doesn't eliminate jobs in an industry where crunch is the norm - it speeds up the process and allows the reallocation of workflow
