okay I thoroughly like this. They could have a running gag or issue throughout a couple seasons where in certain stress or when it fits that the way other people think, as a way to solve the problem, it does a partial spontaneous regeneration that lasts for just a couple of minutes for that part of the body. have it be revealed that the person who finished the stabilization matrix for regenerations is another member of the spore alien that Matt Smith and Crew dealt with seeking revenge but only having been a small collection of spores they could only cause a little bit of the wiring in the matrix to not fully seat right.
