It’s just like the collision industry they try to get you used suspension components and I’m not talking like a knuckle or something like that. I’m talking about used bearings struts control, arms bushings. Had a coworker where they made him install a used fan clutch.

they typically want you to do more work than necessary to do the job. then dont cover a ton of stuff necessary to do the job

I’ve had to reassemble an engine so the adjuster could hear it run. Once it was reassembled the adjuster had an issue that there was no current codes. Bruh, the engine was disassembled and partially out of the vehicle. Because the warranty company wanted to know the root cause and associated damage.

Me personally I’m gonna understand that that is not the dealer that is the warranty company. I would probably pay the extra thousand dollars or if it’s $2000 to have a OEM brand new motor that’s gonna come with a warranty I like that used motor that is from the manufacturer, and those manufacturer warranties are usually very good.

extended warranty companies get away with this because shops let them. if no shops accepted shitty extended warranties, they'd go out of business. I heard that carshield found that out the hard way, and had to reassess their practices.

when the rep showed up and I told him the car was over there he wanted to see it on the lift, I told him I could lend him a jack he said I refused to show him the problem I said i wasn't paid to do his job

Where we work they weeded out the ones that play games the adjuster is 3 days tops where we live
